Today, I'm gonna share with you guys some tips on "How to Fight Nervousness" and what I usually do when I'm feelin' nervous.
1| Be Prepared
Make sure you've done a lot of practices as practice makes perfect! Make yourself well prepared before facing the real situation. Talk in front of the mirror if you find it effective. Sleep with tonnes of notes if you feel more comfortable that way. I choose to eat books! K tipu je. 😋📚 Do whatever it takes as long as we're doing a proper preparation. If you're totally prepared, there's nothing to worry.
2| Understand vs. Memorize
Memorizing is quite easy for certain people. Memorize each and every word or number or formula and then 'throw everything up' when it's time! On the other hand, some other people find it is much easier to remember something when they clearly understand about it and they can elaborate easily using their own words. I use both techniques depending on the situation, ability and suitability. For example, I'm not very good with numbers so I tend to memorize everything like crazy (all the formula and the steps yadayada). 😅 Well, it depends! Your 'overload brain' will definitely help you to get rid of the nervousness. Just do your best instead!
3| Think Positively
Actions come from what's in your mind and what you're thinking. So, do not over thinking. Never let 'nanti apa orang kata' and things like that ruin you. Just follow the flow and be optimistic about what comes ahead. Inhale positivity, exhale negativity. Let the positive aura conquers you.
4| Don't Panic
If you forget something, don't freak out! Relax, close your eyes, try to calm down, take a deep breath, recite 'La ila ha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntum minazzolimin' hoping that Allah helps to bring back the memories and focus on getting the correct answers. InsyaAllah, miracles do happen! ✨ Trust me, I've been there and alhamdulillah, Allah helped me! 👼
5| Control Body Language, Hand Gestures, Facial Expression and Voice Projection
When I'm feeling nervous, both of my hands will get cold and shaking and I can feel my entire body is freezing to death! Over tau haha.. 💁 When we're nervous, it will show. Hence, try to control and overcome these by taking a deep breath few times. Try hard to put the sweetest smile on your face, make eye contact and speak clearly eventhough you're super nervous inside.
6| Be Confident
Hide the awkwardness and shyness. Believe in yourself, your strengths and efforts. Be confident, be YOU. 💪
7| Strengthen the Relationship with Allah
Don't skip five times prayers plus other sunnah practices like Dhuha, Hajat, Tahajjud, Taubat, al-Ma'thurat, surah Yaasiin, zikr and many more. Never lose hope, always have faith in Him. Keep du'a. If you're placing Allah first in whatever you do, insyaAllah He will grant you with so many good things in life and hereafter. Ameen...
